The fantastic Mardi Himal Trek is located east of one of Nepal’s most famous trekking destinations, the Annapurna Base Camp. The Mardi Himal trek is a hidden gem. Several tourists head to the Mardi Himal base camp, which is uniquely located at the foot of the Mardi Himal and the most famous Machapuchhre mountains in the Annapurna region, which means “fishtail.” The path leads along small winding trails through magical rhododendron forests until you reach an altitude of 3300 meters from the forest.
The landscape suddenly turns into a rugged alpine landscape with magnificent views of the Mardi Himal, Machapuchre, Annapurna South, and Hiunchuli. From High Camp (3700 m; other maps incorrectly state 3900 m), you can walk to Mardi Himal Base Camp in 3-4 hours, offering great close-up views of the entire Annapurna Mountains. There are simple inns and guesthouses on the route.
